Mexican Drug Cartel Uses VBIED To Take Out First Responders

As most of you know by now, a Mexican drug cartel has for the first time, used a car bomb detonated by remote cell phone as a weapon. The weapons used in the Mexico have been growing exponentially in their destructive caliber over the last year. From small arms, to automatic weapons, to grenade's and RPG's and now Improvised Explosive Devices (IED's).

Not only did they create and use an IED, detonated with a cellular phone, but they targeted and lured first responders by dressing an injured civilian in police clothing and calling it in as an injured police officer.

It is reported that some of the Mexican drug cartels have been working with former Colombian drug lords who have also used such tactics.

The violence in Mexico has had a marked increased again lately, and though many reports are comparing the attack as reminiscent of past attacks in Colombia, the Chicago Times made some interesting references to terrorist organizations (the Chicago Times article is below in the references).

Reports have been made that Mexican drug cartels are working with international terror organizations before, and I wrote about it once last year here: Connection Between Mexican Drug Cartels and Terrorists Clear in which General Craig McKinley, the head of the United States National Guard said the link between terrorism and drug cartels along the United States border with Mexico is increasingly clear.

Other interesting tactics are being used as well, such as heads being cut off, bodies hung from bridges, and the comparison is made in the Chicago Times article to certain area becoming like "Iraq."

As I write this the White House has officially announced that ICE is increasing the number of National Guard Troops on the U.S. Mexican border.

Mexican Swine Flu Epidemic Sparks Concerns In United States, And Canada

An outbreak of Swine Flu in Mexico has infected nearly 600 people and approximately 61 people have died as of this posting from the deadly virus.

There are also reports of 7 people infected within the United States in California (5) and Texas (2) from Swine Flu as well.

One major source of concern was that the virus included strains from different types of flu.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the virus in the United States was a never-before-seen mixture of viruses typical among pigs, birds and humans. All seven American patients have recovered.

According to Dave Daigle, spokesperson for the CDC, "This is the first time that we've seen an avian strain, two swine strains and a human strain."

Mexico has canceled school for millions of children in Mexico City and has warned people to avoid shaking hands or kiss when greeting and not to share food, glasses or cutlery for fear of contracting the flu.

Connection Between Mexican Drug Cartels and Terrorists Clear

General Craig McKinley, the head of the United States National Guard said the link between terrorism and drug cartels along the United States border with Mexico is increasingly clear.

The drug cartels are supporting and funneling money to terrorist organizations according to the General, and are becoming increasingly violent.

If this statement is true, and as the situation develops it may only be a matter of time before terror groups set up bases of operations in Mexican Cities along the United States Border. In addition to increased numbers of terrorists crossing our border, we may also see the emergence of rocket attacks into the United States that are similar in nature to the rocket attacks on Israel.

It is for this reason, we cannot wait for the situation to further decline, the violence has already crossed into our Country.

When asked by Bill O’Reilly on his Fox News show if the violence was going to spread into the United States, Zapata County Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez said; “I’m not going to say it’s coming, I’m saying it’s already here.”

U.S. Representative Lamar Smith recently said the rise in violence along the border “has turned some American communities and neighborhoods into the Wild West." He added that “a battle is building on the border, and U.S. citizens are getting caught in the crossfire.... Congress must address the violence before more lives are lost."
